Chicago Gay Pride Parade

Log Cabin Illinois marched in the 2007 Gay Pride Parade on our own float! In years past we’ve typically marched with a politician like, Judy Baar Topinka. This year however the Pride Committee organized an outstanding presence for us at the parade. We handed out cards supporting an end to Don’t Ask Don’t Tell (DADT). We’ve typically received a mixed response from parade observers. This year however, it seemed like people reacted more positively then ever! We ran out of DADT postcards not halfway through the parade route!

Along with LCR members running beside the float handing out DADT postcards, we also had a number of veterans on the float.
